Over the past five years,
------using Gurudakshina contributions from teachers, (and last year those of Khalsa Council members), KRI’s staff have transcribed and proof read almost 5,000 (of the 8000) Yogi Bhajan’s lectures! This process is going on in our office in Bangalore, India, where we have six full time transcriptionists. The Archives Librarian in the New Mexico office files the electronic transcripts, and catalogs each lecture into a database to track the status of this momentous project. The stages for creating our Library of the Teachings of Yogi Bhajan are:

1) transcription;

2) first proofreading;
3) second proofreading;
4) meditation write-up and video picture (when possible);
5) verification of step 4;
6) translation/transliteration of Gurmukhi/Hindu/Sanscrit;
7) verification of step 6;
8) light editing for grammatical clarity.

------The success of this project is due to your commitment to seeing that the Library of the Teachings comes into fruition, for your personal use, and the use of future generations.

The Next Steps for the Future

------We are embarking on other needed elements toward making the Library of Teachings a reality. We are beginning to research and brainstorm how to set the direction for the indexing and coding of the Teachings so they can best be accessed. We need to foresee the many different ways the material will be used. We know that with the advent of new technology and new generational needs arising, this process will evolve.
------We are enlisting your help as a member of IKYTA, as a think tank for this next step. Please share your thoughts and/or visions on this exciting new phase in our development by e-mailing us at archivesproject@3holist.com.
